Where, oh Where to start’?

02 February 2018

So you have picked the venue? Now what?

We know that sometimes it can be completely daunting planning a wedding and where just where do you start?

We often find that once couples have booked the venue they normally have a little break from the planning as they are at ease that they have secured their date and space. During this time soak up the newly engaged glory!

We generally advise to make some lists with thoughts and to do's .... then you have that satisfying feeling of ticking them off one by one! To do one thing a month is great as it spreads the cost too!!

We normally suggest catering is a next on the tick list after the venue.

We have a great selection of caterers that we work with. These incredible maestro’s have been handpicked by us for their passion of food and great customer service. Street food more your style then we have taco bars, sour dough pizza’s (made out of the back of a converted land rover), ‘proper’ burgers, paella to name just a few options. Then for those that want the traditional style wedding? Then that’s not a problem either we have 3 super caterers who tailor menus to couples needs with a fresh approach to wedding catering. Seasonal, local and sustainable menus at the forefront of our suppliers catering. Have a browse at our caterers.

All things fizz!! The Night Yard bar manager will be in touch when you book to tell you about all the different options that can be had for your big day and you are invited to a tasting before , which is always fun!

When planning timings for the day this is the rough guide we work on but always changes to peoples setups!

If you are having your ceremony at the venue:

30 mins for the ceremony

60-90 mins for drinks, photos and canapes

30mins for starter

60 mins for main course

30mins for dessert

45mins for speeches

Next on the list comes all the fun stuff!

These are all the details which make your day yours!! Dresses, stationary, flowers all the pretty things!

Pinterest is really great for ideas but be realistic about what you can create!

Event stylists and wedding co ordinators are really worth it and can be really great for your stress levels! You may want to do some handmade bits but really the day before you don’t want to be worrying about these and should be having a well deserved pamper day.

Notice of ceremony

Don’t worry we book you in with the Kent Ceremonies team and then they will get in touch with you and your partner to come and legally give Notice of Marriage at a Registry Office. This notice must be done at least 28 days prior to your ceremony date.

We are always on hand to answer any questions and can help you along the way!
