Professionally Trained Makeup Artist Lucy Baker tells us her top 5 beauty hacks towards getting flawless wedding skin. With 12 years experience in the make up world, working on TV, fashion shows, fashion mags and with celebrities. 7 years ago, when Lucy's first daughter was born, there had to be a change of direction. Lucy focused on being a Mummy and a MUA and started working with real women, on their wedding days. In addition, Makeup Mastery was launched in 2016. Drink boiled water with a big squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a few lemon slices in, every morning. This is great for hydrating the skin, detoxing the liver and the antioxidants in lemon juice help to not only decrease blemishes, but wrinkles too.


Do a good old fashioned facial steam twice a week on the run up to your wedding. If this causes a breakout, be mindful of doing this the week before you get married. That said, if you start this 3 months before your big day, your skin will be used to it and looking wonderful by the time you step into your dress.


Do not try any new skincare or makeup products, or new treatments in the 2 weeks running up to your wedding,


Use a good lip-balm every day and night. And invest in a 'lip-scrub' and use every other day. When your lips are in tip-top condition, your lipstick looks utterly beautiful on the day, and it stays on better, too.


Wear a good facial SPF - every day, rain or shine. This will keep your skin clear from pigmentation, dark spots and sunburn. This results in better looking makeup - as less base makeup will be needed. Your complexion will look truly radiant, needing only a little bit of base and concealer.
