Wedding World watch out for NANCY @ The Night Yard !

07 February 2017

As we continue to grow and evolve here at The Night Yard we have also decided to increase our clan. Nancy has joined Charlotte (and the HICO team)....YIPPEE !!! We are both so excited about working together and have already had a few surreal simultaneous moments. The office isn't quite as quiet as it use to be either with us constantly flying ideas, wedding trends and lists at each other already (with the occasional cake or treat...STANDARD!)

We will be working closely together with our booked brides and grooms although Nancy will be a couples first port of call when they enquire to The Night Yard and she will be helping with all those questions and queries that they may have.

Want to know more about Nancy Night Yard?..... Of course you do! Here she is!....

A natural born party planner, lover of all things homemade, doughnut obsessive, home body, chatterbox, mum, wife and Kentish girl at heart.

Ever since I was a little girl I dreamt about my wedding day. I spent hours drawing wedding dresses, mapping out the marquee on my family farm and playing make believe weddings with all who couldn't escape quick enough. I longed to get married (but probably like most little girls it was more the excitement of the wedding that the actual marriage).

So you can gather my excitement when G got down on one knee in 2011 and proposed. We gave ourselves 2 years to plan and we embraced all things 'us'. I now wasn't bothered about a 'perfect wedding' I was bothered about the 'perfect wedding for US'. I spent hours reading wedding blogs, looking through all the magazines, and talking to fellow wedding planners. I was in my element. In May 2013 we had a beautiful church wedding, followed by a seaside themed marquee reception on my parents farm. Ever since then I've wanted to plan another!!

After studying Graphic Design and Illustration at the University of Hertfordshire I realised that going freelance wasn't my bag and I didn't really know how else to use my degree. I moved back to Kent in 2008 and found a job working for a local marquee company. I loved speaking to people about their parties and weddings and getting all of the suppliers organised to service the event.

I moved on to a permanent job working in the administration and marketing team for an educational product company, but all the while dreamt about moving back into the Event Industry.

I took the leap to move to Brighton in 2009; I was 23 and single. I started my International Event Management Masters, and planned to move straight back to Canterbury once I was done......7 years later I'm 30, married, have a son, years of office, marketing, social media and event experience under my belt, and am taking the leap to move back to Canterbury.

I am delighted to have finally found a role where I will be able to use all of my experience to give couples the best day they could hope for and I'm so excited to be returning to my Kentish roots

I look forward to hearing, working and meeting you all and finding out about your exciting wedding ideas!
