Scott Anderson creating an unforgettable dining experience

24 December 2016

We have taken 5 minutes out from drinking our favourite mulled wine fizz and scoffing the cheese and biscuits to speak to Caroline. As the Operations Manager at Scott Anderson Ltd one of our recommended suppliers at The Night Yard she gives us an insiders view on the catering for your special event.

What is your personal favourite or ideal wedding menu?

Gosh that’s hard to answer, I love so many things!! If I had to choose though, to start

Peppered beef fillet roasted rare and served with wild watercress and horseradish cream and finished with pickled radishes

To follow

Southern Kent belly of pork with apple and sage butter served with celeriac and new potato crush topped with parsnip chips and cranberry and port jus

To finish

Trio of Eton Mess, lemon posset with candied lemon and dark Belgian chocolate fondant

Most interesting wedding/theme you have seen?

We recently catered for a Hawaiian wedding which gave us the opportunity to incorporate some of the grooms’ favourite traditional street food from his home country into an English country garden wedding. New and exciting ingredients and flavours for us all to experience!

What do you think is the most important part to your service?

We don’t believe that any single part is more important than the other; be it pre planning, private tasting, management on the day and of course our wonderful front of house team.

Do you do tastings?

We do complimentary menu tastings for couples at our purpose built kitchen in Faversham

Do you do special meals for children?

Yes… and parents don’t mind giving their kids a helping hand if they are struggling – especially with our scrumptious chocolate brownie! Alternatively, children can have smaller portions of any adult menu

Is there anything new that your chefs are particularly excited about?

They’re really enjoying the whole ‘social’ dining and sharing platter scene. We’re doing more and more of this and we believe it’s a great way for guests to interact, particularly for the starter and dessert course.

Do you set up the tables including favours and place cards?

Our front of house team meticulously set the room including but not limited to placing flowers, favours, place name cards and many more decorations!

Do you have someone who will oversee the wedding on the day?

Yes, one of our lovely Event Managers will oversee the day and work closely with the bride and groom

If a bride wanted something not on your standard menu can you accommodate this?

Absolutely, our team loves doing bespoke menus and we always endeavour to create something different, individual and of course delicious!!

FINALLY your top tip for a bride and groom?

Choose the things that will make YOU happy for your big day and worry less about pleasing everyone else – guests will love whatever you choose because it makes the day unique to you!
